Food for the Weekend-Air Fryer Bloomin Onion

The blooming onion will always remind me of the Hanger Bar in Juneau Alaska, which was where I first had this delectable appetizer. Luckily, when I moved to MA, we were able to get it at Outback Steakhouse, which is famous for it. Since moving to the UK, we realized that our special cutter was missing, but Amazon saved the day and we were able to order a replacement! We recently purchased an air fryer after feeling a little skeptical about it. However, since buying one, we have not had a single thought of returning to deep fat frying. My husband is a total convert, as it is cleaner, doesn’t put grease all over the kitchen, and doesn’t require the difficulty of changing the oil, that a deep fryer requires.

WINE NOTE: Fried food- even air fried- works well with sparkling wine. For fantastic bargains that are not over produced, move away from the Prosecco and try Cremant or Cava! Cremant has similar properties to Champagne and Cava is made in the same process as Champagne and is often less expensive than Prosecco but great quality for the price. If it is a special occasion, maybe go for some English sparkling wine, such as Nyetimber or Camel Valley!!
